Let the travels begin!!

My morning started bright and early at 6am Monday at LAX. The Air Canada line was (in the words of Laurie...) Out of control! I was the last one allowed in line in the building then it snaked around the outside. It took an hour to get checked in and people were a little crazy. I felt bad for the workers, so I was really nice to mine. (That might have been what got me the upgrade) I arrived at my gate in time to find that I was in ROW 2!! Suhhweet!! This was my first time in 1st class. I got breakfast, hot towels, and lots of other perks. I sat next to a businessman from Zurich. He's an American (from Pasadena) who moved toSwitzerland 20yrs. Ago. My smooth start to my trip ended here....

 We are getting ready to land, and the announcement comes that anyone on my flight in Montreal to Frankfurt would have to hurry, as our plane was supposed to take off 5 minutes ago! We still have approximately 10 minutes until we land.  Today is moving day in Canada. As I learned from my new friend in 1st class, Canadians all move on the 1st of July as that's when leases end. It sounds like a crazy day. Well in honor of moving day, I got to do my own moving in Montreal. It was nice being the first one off the plane. I went through Canadian customs and then RAN across the airport to my flight. I made it! Phew! (Only to discover I have a middle seat for this 8 hour flight o joy!) surprise again.... The 2women on each side of me were mother/daughter and the mom wanted the middle so I got the window! :) Thank you Lord!!

Frankfurt's airport at rush hour makes maneuvering through LAX at rush hour look like nothing. I did customs, 3 people movers, another security check with scanners, and 2 elevators to get to my gate, add a few thousand crazy lost travelers, and you get the picture. :) 

I'm currently sitting at the gate waiting for my flight to start boarding in 15 minutes. It's currently 11:00pm Monday night.  (8:00 Tues. morning here)
